Post Covid-19 Second Wave Hiring Intent Up, But Odisha not in Top-15 Job Engines

Odisha Not in Top-15 Job Engines

News Summary

It seems high time for Odisha to take a leaf out of Indore's book to secure a place among the top job creators in the country. The country's cleanest city scores over Odisha's Smart city (Bhubaneswar) in job creation. Both are tier-2 cities. But when Bhubaneswar stands nowhere in the top - 15 hiring cities dominated by tier -1 cities, Indore ranked at 14th in the country. Both the cities have an IIT. Though Indore has an IIM, the Odisha IIM is in Sambalpur.

Notwithstanding the disastrous run of the second wave in India, the hiring intent in the country looks quite bright. Though metro and tier 1 cities are predicted to emerge as job engines in the coming quarters of the year, tier-2 cities will also see higher job creation. But no single city from Odisha figures in the list.

As per the TeamLease Employment Outlook Report 2021, 14 cities in the country will see maximum hiring activities. And the cities are Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Ahmedabad,  Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Gurgaon, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Kochi and Indore.
