(image) Bhubaneswar: Santosh Mallick, Inspector, CID-Special Branch, arrested for allegedly molesting a minor on a Puri-bound train, and who escaped from police custody on Saturday, was nabbed in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
The acussed Inspector, CID-Special Branch had escaped from the police custody after getting down from the police van in front of Jharpada special jail.
Mallick was arrested on Saturday for allegedly molesting a minor girl, who was sleeping in an AC compartment of the Howrah-Puri Jagannath Express.
The passengers had caught hold of the inspector after the girl raised an alarm. The accused sustained injuries on his face and body after being manhandled by the mob.
Police arrested him following a complaint lodged by the girl`s parents at the government railway police (GRP) outpost at Puri. The police inspector on the other hand has lodged a complaint against some passengers for assaulting him.
