Nitesh Kumar Sahoo

The excitement among movie lovers is skyrocketing as Adipurush's release date is inching closer. The hype around the Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan starrer is quite high. Meanwhile, the buzz around Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project Ramayan is also quite elevated.

The eagerness for Ramayan also built up high after the buzz about the makers in talks with Kannada Film Industry’s Rocking Star Yash for Ravana’s role surfaced. While it would have been a visual treat for movie lovers to see Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama locking horns with Yash in another cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic, it seems, fans waiting eagerly for an official confirmation for the same will get disheartened.

As per the latest reports, Rocking Star Yash has reportedly turned down the offer to play the character of Demon King in the magnum opus. The report suggests that helmer Nitesh Tiwari approached Yash for playing Ravana’s character in his ambitious project. However, Yash is not too keen to play a negative character at this point in his career.

Further, the report also stated that Yash is aware of his fans’ expectations and they won’t like him to take up a negative character.
India Today quoted a Kannada film industry source as saying, “Yash is very mindful of what his fans want and, right now, they definitely will not accept him in a negative role. He has always believed in his fans and gone by their sentiments so he will not be taking up this role."

Though there is no official confirmation backing the buzz, the reports certainly must have disheartened many eagerly waiting for Yash’s Bollywood debut.

On the other hand, Yash’s fans are eagerly waiting for the next movie announcement of their matinee idol. While there has been strong buzz about Yash19 in which Yash will be teaming up with national award-winning director Geethu Mohandas for a gangster film, there has been no confirmation yet.

It is worthwhile to mention that Hrithik Roshan was the first choice for Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan.
