  • Rohit Shetty's web series based on police force is now streaming on OTT.
  • The series has actors like Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, and Shilpa Shetty leading the police pack.

Rohit Shetty is a big name in Bollywood. With big hits like Chennai Express, Golmaal and Singham franchise, Sooryavanshi, and Simmba to his credit, there is no denying the fact that Shetty knows the pulse of the audience and delivers what they want. However, since Cirkus which is his last theatrical release things do not seem to be working in his favour.

Cirkus was based on Gulzar’s big hit Angoor and it was a sure-shot formula to make a movie successful. Rohit Shetty has a knack for creating comedy situations and Bol Bachchan and his Golmaal franchise is a proof of it. Even then Cirkus failed to impress the audience.

Ditto with his OTT debut series Indian Police Force which is all set to start streaming on Amazon Prime from January 19 onwards. It has established actors like Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, and Shilpa Shetty leading the pack of officers. However, what has been released in the form of posters, teasers and clips by the makers so far has left the fans upset.

Netizens have slammed the content with many calling it trash. A few have also claimed that the only saving grace of the Indian Police Force is Sidharth Malhotra slaying it as a cop. An X user has criticised Rohit Shetty’s work saying that it is an exceptionally amateur work and the CGI is horrible. He added that even the YouTubers are doing better.

Now many are wondering where Rohit Shetty is going wrong. One user has rightly said that the Dilwale director is refusing to evolve and is still stuck with the old formula which is not working now. Well, this might be true because, in the last few years, fans have witnessed massive blockbusters including RRR, Pathaan, Jawan, Salaar, Gadar 2, KGF, Animal, and many more that have high-octane action, fast-paced stories, and crisp editing.

With VFX and CGI giving wings to imaginations fans are now not satisfied with flying cars and slow-motion cliché action scenes which have been a forte of Rohit Shetty’s action movies. He is currently working on Singham Again which is the third movie from his Singham franchise.

Hopefully, the stardom of Ajay Devgn and the curiosity to witness the feisty avatar of Deepika Padukone as a notorious cop will attract the audience to the theaters.
