When Vidya Balan and Arshad Warsi freaked out during kissing scene for Ishqiya; Here’s what happened!

Vidya Balan and Arshad Warsi were paired opposite each other in Vishal Bharadwaj produced Ishqiya. It was a dark comedy that also included some intimate scenes between Vidya and Arshad. One particular kissing scene was quite a passionate one which the debutant director Abhishek Dubey wanted the actors to do organically on their own.

But although both Vidya and Arshad were seasoned actors even then, they sort of freaked out when the time came to shoot this kissing scene. The director wanted to underplay the scene whereas the actors were getting edgy before the shoot.

When Arshad Warsi called Abhishek a few days before the actual shooting, the director said that he would leave the camera rolling and walk away while they completed the scene. It made the Munna Bhai MBBS actor more nervous and he then called his co-star Vidya and discussed the kissing scene with her. It freaked her out and she became skeptical. So they decided to shoot the scene in a hotel room.

But when the actual time came to shoot the scene, they did not discuss it. Instead, the director left the camera rolling and walked away while Vidya and Arshad completed the scene on their own. That was the dilemma many actors and actresses faced earlier while shooting an intimate scene with each other.

That is why today, there are choreographers who help the actors ease into the scene, and make them comfortable with each other so that when it is the time to shoot the kiss or an intimate scene, the actors are not nervous but can perform like professionals without getting edgy.

Recently Siddhant Chaturvedi talked about how the Dharma people hired a choreographer so that he could feel comfortable while shooting intimate scenes with Deepika Padukone. Ditto with Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri who shot a sexy song Jaanam for their recent release Bad Newz.
