A throwback video of gorgeous Aishwarya Rai speaking up on being removed from five films has resurfaced and is going viral on social media. Speaking to Simi Garewal, Aishwarya reveals how she was hurt after being dropped from five movies without any explanation.
The video starts with Simi referring to Shah Rukh Khan and saying, “You were working together on five films, weren’t you Aish? Veer Zara was written for you,” to which Aishwarya replies, “There were a couple of films that were supposed to happen with me. But suddenly they weren’t happening, without any reason whatsoever. I have never had the answer to why.”
Again Simi asks Aish if her exit from the films was her decision. The ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ actress says, “No, it wasn't my decision. You obviously are taken aback, confused and of course, hurt. You wonder about it.”
As per reports, Aishwarya Rai was supposed to work with SRK in Chalte Chalte, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Veer Zaara, but was replaced by Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta for some unknown reasons.
In an interview earlier, SRK had said, “To start a project with someone and then change her for no fault of hers is very difficult. It is very sad as Ash is a good friend. Personally, I think I did wrong. But as a producer it made sense. I apologised to Ash.”
The two actors have shared screen space in Josh, Devdas, and Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. SRK appeared in a cameo role as Aish’s husband in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
The two stars have left behind their old grudges and share a good relationship with each other.
