  • However the Stree actress turned down the offer.

Shraddha Kapoor is one of the most followed Indian actress. Despite being choosey and doing fewer films these last couple of years, her fan following has continued to escalate beating even the likes of new superstars like Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon.

As Shraddha Kapoor turns a year older today, here’s an interesting anecdote from her past that will surprise many.

Shraddha Kapoor was offered the lead role opposite Salman Khan

When the Stree actress was around 15 to 16 years of age she was offered a female lead role opposite none other than Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for the movie “Lucky: Not Time for Love”. It was almost two decades ago when the Dabangg actor was in his prime and a launch like that would have certainly done wonders to the career of Shraddha Kapoor.

Talking about the same during an interview, the Bollywood star said, “I felt that at the age of 15 or 16, I was too young and wanted to finish schooling and attend college. I don’t think getting offers back then has defined my success. But it was difficult to turn it down and focus on studies because it was such a fantastic opportunity to work with Salman Khan.”

Eventually, Shraddha made her debut in Bollywood after a few years. Before that though she went abroad for her undergrad education and enrolled in a university in Boston. To earn a bit of pocket money and experience Shraddha at that time used to work at a coffee shop of a prominent chain.

Success after multiple flops

Since she was the daughter of Shakti Kapoor, it was much easier for Shraddha Kapoor to get a launch. Many believe that Aashiqui 2 is her first movie. But her first film in Bollywood was Teen Patti which did not do well. Next, she worked in Luv Ka The End but even that movie failed to appeal to the audience.

It was Mahesh Bhatt who roped her in for Vishesh Films and offered her the opportunity to work in Aashiqui’s sequel.
