Wamiqa Gabbi is next to Deepika and Alia in IMDb's Top 10 list

IMDb’s list of the most popular actors of 2023 surfaced a few days ago and not surprisingly King Khan aka Shah Rukh Khan is leading his film industry at the top followed by this year’s National Award winner Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone at second and third spots respectively.

The top 10 includes some expected names like Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and more. Also surprising is the fact that names of big stars like Salman Khan or Ajay Devgn are not on the list. But this year's biggest surprise is the entry of the Jab We Met actor Wamiqa Gabbi who is next to Deepika Padukone in the top 10 just before Nayanthara.

And that has triggered a lot of interest in this actress since she has not exactly been discussed or trending on social media much. Surprisingly, she had multiple releases on OTT and theaters this year owing to which she is in the top 5 of the most popular actors of the 2023 list on IMDb. Her releases this year include Kali Jotta, Jubilee, Modern Love Chennai, Charlie Chopra & The Mystery of Solang Valley, and Khufiya.

While Wamiqa had a very small role in Jab We Met and hence nobody much noticed her she has been doing a lot of work in the Punjabi films and has worked up the ladder where she can be called a Punjabi star today. Not surprisingly, she has starred in a few Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu movies and was the lead star opposite Ishaan Khatter in Vishal Bharadwaj's movie Fursat released in early 2023.

Apart from Wamiqa another star who surprised many with her inclusion in the IMDb’s top 10 list is Sobhita Dhulipala. She certainly has got a few good OTT releases this year not to forget PS1 and 2 that were released in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
