In a cinematic triumph, Shah Rukh Khan's blockbuster ‘Jawan’ has etched its name as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2023, catapulting the South sensation Nayanthara into the spotlight for her Bollywood debut. However, the intriguing backstory reveals that Nayanthara wasn't the initial choice for the pivotal role of Narmada.

According to DNA report, before Nayanthara stepped into the character, the role was first offered to Samantha Ruth Prabhu. In 2019, Samantha had the opportunity to share the screen with Shah Rukh Khan but turned down the offer due to personal obligations. At that time, she was committed to starting a family with her then-husband Naga Chaitanya, leading her to step away from the project.

Sources revealed that Samantha had previously collaborated with director Atlee in the successful films ‘Their’ and ‘Mersal,’ both turning out to be massive commercial hits. The role that Samantha declined eventually landed in Nayanthara's capable hands, marking her entry into the world of Hindi cinema.

‘Jawan’ emerged as a global phenomenon, amassing over Rs 1160 crore worldwide and Rs 640.25 crore in India. The star-studded cast, including Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Deepika Padukone, and Priyamani, contributed to the film's immense success. Shah Rukh Khan, in a double role, earned thunderous applause for his performance.

Reflecting on working with Nayanthara, Shah Rukh Khan praised her beauty and acting prowess, expressing hope that her Tamil Nadu fans would rediscover their admiration for her while the Hindi audience appreciated her hard work.
