  • Vijay Sethupathi may soon join the star cast of Ramayana: Part 1 according to latest reports.
  • The shooting is expected to be wrapped up by July 2024.

The hype around Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is quite high these days. New additions are expected in the star cast of the big-budget movie, based on Indian epic Ramayana soon. And one such addition could be Vijay Sethupathi as Vibhishana. The Merry Christmas star was given an elaborate narration by the Dangal director recently.

As per a report in Pink Villa, as the director went through the script Vijay became more and more impressed and has shown interest in doing the film.

If that happens it will add more value to the already brilliant and versatile star cast that Ramayana has. Reportedly, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are playing the characters of Lord Ram and Sita respectively whereas KGF fame Sandalwood's Rocking Star Yash will be playing Ravan. Sunny Deol who returned to Bollywood with a bang with Gadar 2 last year is reportedly playing Hanuman. However, his brother Bobby Deol who is now enjoying super success after Animal has refused to play the role of Kumbhakarna offered to him by the makers.

The movie is reportedly going on floors in March 2024 with Sai Pallavi and Ranbir Kapoor joining the first schedule. Yash will join the star cast around June and July 2024 and will shoot for 15 days to complete his part in the first part of Ramayana.

Ramayana: Part One shooting is expected to get wrapped up by July 2024. The makers have allocated 500 days to complete the post-production work out of which most of the work will be on the VFX. Nowadays, VFX and CGI play important roles in depicting the enormity of a scene and glorifying the drama effectively on the silver screen.

The maker is planning to make Ramayana a movie for the global audience and hence has handed over the pre-visualization to DNEG. That is why the VFX artists will be given 500 days to work exclusively on the visuals of Ramayana: Part 1.

Incidentally, Adipurush that released last year with Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in the lead was slammed badly for its VFX and depiction of characters. Hopefully, a successful and experienced director like Nitesh Tiwari will not repeat the mistake.
