Uorfi Javed recently shared that she had received an invitation to appear at the Cannes 2025 Film Festival but could not reach there because her visa was not approved. The Bigg Boss OTT star now has shared a cryptic note on her official Instagram account saying that walking on the red carpet at the Cannes is not an achievement unless it is your movie that is being premiered at the Film Festival.
In her Instagram post, Uorfi Javed has shared that the celebrities who walk the red carpet at the Cannes are sponsored by the brands or even individuals with good financial backing can buy tickets to the film festival and hence it is not a big achievement at all. She also said that Cannes red carpet is an opportunity for the influencers and celebrities to promote themselves.
On her Instagram account, Uorfi Javed wrote, “Going to Cannes is an opportunity which isn’t based on your merit. Brands buy tickets to the red carpet and give them to influencers/celebrities to represent the brand. Individuals can also buy tickets. Walking the Cannes red carpet is not an achievement, not even for me. It’s an opportunity to promote yourself. That’s the truth. Here I said it."

That certainly diminishes a bit of allurement around Cannes as for years together many Indians thought that it was a big deal to get invited to this international film festival.
Earlier the fashionista revealed that she has been away publicly for some time because she was trying different things including starting a business. But nothing seems to be going right as she faced rejections. That is when she was sponsored by Indie Wild to go to Cannes 2025 but unfortunately her visa was rejected and she could not make her debut this year.
Uorfi Javed also urged all her fans and followers to come up with their own rejection stories to support others who are fighting rejections.
