SRK, Anil and Jackie Shroff
Bollywood is all set to witness the ultimate throwback with a modern twist as three legends—Shah Rukh Khan, Jackie Shroff, and Anil Kapoor gear up to share screen space once again. Nearly three decades since Trimurti (1995), the trio will reunite for the much-anticipated action thriller King, directed by Siddharth Anand. With the film set to go on floors on May 20, the buzz around this mega project is reaching a fever pitch.
While the details around Jackie Shroff’s role are being kept under tight wraps, it has been confirmed that Anil Kapoor will play a pivotal role as SRK’s handler and mentor in the film. According to sources, Kapoor’s gravitas and commanding screen presence made him the top pick for the part. “His charisma and experience bring just the right weight to guide SRK’s assassin character,” an insider revealed.
Fans will remember SRK, Jackie, and Anil last shared the screen in Trimurti, a 1995 film that failed to impress at the box office but is now a cult throwback for Bollywood lovers. Their reunion in King promises redemption not just in nostalgia, but in cinematic brilliance.
King is being crafted for today’s theatrical audience, promising a raw, emotionally intense, and never-before-seen version of Shah Rukh Khan. Following the success of Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki, SRK is set to dive deep into the gritty world of espionage, guided by Kapoor’s seasoned character.
With Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Arshad Warsi, and Abhay Verma also on board, King is shaping up to be a blockbuster ensemble. International action directors have been roped in to ensure edge-of-the-seat sequences. Shooting begins in Mumbai between May 18–20, followed by an extensive international schedule in Europe. The film is eyeing a late 2026 release, with over 100 shooting days planned.
