Music reality shows have given many talented singers to India. The winners and contestants from the recently concluded Indian Idol 12 like Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Sayli Kamble, and more are already very popular among music lovers today. But there have been a lot many singers who were eliminated or voted out from the show or failed to even pass the auditions but today are at the top.

Here are the top such 6 singers who struggled to make their place in the music industry but now are way ahead of those who actually won the show.

Vishal Mishra (Singer/Music Composer)

He auditioned for Indian Idol 4 but was rejected. While he did get selected during the audition of Indian Idol 6 his journey was very short but the talented composer and singer continued to struggle. With good support from Lalit Pandit and then later on from Salman Khan, this talented young man found a good foothold in the music world. He became a popular name post his song Kaise Hua from Kabir Singh became a big hit.

Monali Thakur (Singer)

Monali reached the top 10 during the Indian Idol Season 2 but failed to win the trophy. The trained dancer and actress still did not lose hope and continued to struggle and work hard. She got a big break with Race 2 and became a big name after winning National Award for Moh Moh Ke Dhaage.

Asees Kaur (Singer)

Her voice gained pan India recognition when the Gurbani sung by Asees became very popular. Even then success did not come easily to her. She was rejected in the audition of Indian Idol 6 but was picked up by Salim Sulaiman for playback in Tamanchey. From then on, she has been climbing ladders of success delivering good hits from Kesari, Simmba, Drive, Loveyatri, and more.

Jubin Nautiyal (Singer)

During the audition of X-Factor, he was rejected by Sonu Nigam. But the determined youngster did not lose hope and continued to struggle and kept on singing scratch version for a long time. One such scratch version sung by Jubin for the movie Shaukeen impressed its lead star Akshay Kumar so much that he decided to retain it in the movie.

And today Jubin not only is a famous playback singer but is also known for delivering back-to-back hit albums.

Neha Kakkar (Singer, Reality Show Judge)

She is one of the biggest examples of how a rejected contestant can still make it big in the music industry. While she could not win the Indian Idol 5 after reaching the top 10, Neha Kakkar continued to do stage shows and giving auditions. Her biggest break came with Cocktail’s Second Hand Jawani song and from then on Neha went on to give some massive hits and impressing the audience with her husky voice. Today she is the judge of the show from where she was evicted nearly a decade ago.

Arjit Singh (Singer)

Arjit is such a big name today that no one can believe that he was voted out of the top 5 from Sony Television’s Fame Gurukul. But even at that time the judges Shankar Mahadevan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali had loved his voice and gave him a break. But both these songs failed to give Arjit Singh the desired recognition. His real break came with Aashiqui 2 and now he has even left behind those who had won the big reality shows.
