Rebel star Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is one of the most successful movies of 2024 and crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark. The science fiction film is among the highest grossing Indian movies of the years just behind Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule.

After the stupendous success of the first part, fans are eagerly waiting for the second part of Kalki 2898 AD. Meanwhile, fans have expressed their wish to see Tollywood Prince Mahesh Babu as Lord Krishna in the sequel. Even Kalki director Nag Ashwin recently opened up on casting Mahesh Babu as Lord Krishna in the film.

During media interaction, Ashwin added that Kalki 2898 AD would have crossed the Rs 2000 crore mark at the box office if Mahesh Babu was on board.

“Mahesh Babu, yeah of course! In Kalki universe, I didn’t want to show a face. But, if there is a full length role, then yeah I think Mahesh Babu fans are very keen. With the love that they are showing, the movie will be like all time blockbuster even before releasing the teaser,” Ashwin stated.

When the interviewer requested him to take Mahesh Babu in the second part, Ashwin further added, “Yeah, yeah I think so. I really love Mahesh Babu in Khaleeja, where he is playing a God who is human.  It is so beautiful. If a full time God role, then I’m sure then nobody can pull it off like him.”

Now, fans are having their fingers crossed to see Mahesh Babu in a full-fledged role in Kalki 2.
