Tiger 3 starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif is all set to hit the theaters on November 12. Although the advance bookings for the movie have received a lukewarm response, Tiger 3 is expected to pick up on word of mouth as Salman’s stardom has always ensured that his movies do well at the box office.
Both Salman and Katrina have a strong fan base in the South East Asian countries like UAE, Qatar, and Oman and it is expected that a lot of overseas collection will come from these territories.
However, there is a strong buzz currently making rounds that Tiger 3 may not be released in Qatar and Oman simply because its content shows both Islamic countries and related characters in a negative light.
According to rumours the character of Emraan Hashmi shows him as the leader of a global terrorist organisation with association with these Islamic countries.
There is no official confirmation on the same but it can well be true as previously Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj was also banned in Kuwait and Oman as the movie was about the last Hindu ruler of India and a few countries like Kuwait and Oman thought that the movie presented a distorted history about the Islamic characters and countries thereby hurting the sentiments of the Muslims.
If these rumours are true then it can be a big blow to Tiger 3 which is being promoted as one of the biggest blockbusters of this year. The pair of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have always worked wonders at the box office.
Importantly, they have received a lot of love as Tiger and Zoya respectively and the song “Ruan” and “ Leke Prabhu Ka Naam” has once again established the fact that the two superstars share a strong onscreen chemistry.
