Tarang Cine Productions' much-awaited movie of the year, ‘Pushkara’ was released on the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi on Tuesday. Pushkara is now being screened in 25 cities in Odisha, including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore, Jajpur, Rourkela, Sambalpur and Sundargarh.

The premier show of Pushkara was held at Maharaja Hall in Bhubaneswar today. The film is based on eminent writer Sankar Tripathy’s Odia novel Nadabindu. It gives a peek into different waning traditional rituals and cultures of Odisha.

Apart from that, the makers have also shed light on different ancestral occupations practiced for ages but are currently disappearing in modern culture. The response to the film has been overwhelming on the opening day. The audience loved the work of lead actors Sabyasachi Mishra and Supriya in the film.

“The plot of the movie is based on an Odia novel and we hope that the audience loves it. Rajashree Pictures is distributing the movie across Odisha. We are also planning to release it in different parts of the country,” said actor Sabyasachi Mishra.

Mishra further said that the team of Tarang Cine Productions had been working hard on the film.

“The review from the audience on the first day will certainly help to attract more audience to the theatres from tomorrow,” Mishra added.

Director Subhranshu Das said, “The response to the movie on the first day was superb and we are positive that audiences will love the movie.”
