The much-awaited trailer of Tarang Cine Productions’ upcoming Odia movie Pushkara was unveiled on Friday. Soon after its release, the trailer garnered massive appreciation from movie lovers for its original concept and onscreen presentation.

The film based on eminent writer Sankar Tripathy’s Odia novel Nadabindu, gives a peek into different waning traditional rituals and cultures of Odisha. Apart from that the makers have also shed light on different ancestral occupations practised since ages but are currently disappearing in the modern culture.

To celebrate the trailer release and seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath and His siblings, the entire team along with lead actors Sabyasachi and Supriya visited Puri Srimandir.

“It is absolutely a magical experience. Divine power is above all. In this Holy land of Puri and with the blessings of Mahaprabhu, we have released the trailer of the movie. The movie has been shot in various locations of Puri. Pushkara is dedicated to Puri. Puri’s Pushkara will now reach every corner of the globe as we have initiated steps after seeking Mahaprabhu’s blessings,” said actor, Sabyasachi Mishra.

Sharing a spoiler, actress Supriya said, “Toward the climax, my relationship with Pushkara will be revealed. After we arrived here (Puri) to seek the blessings of Mahaprabhu, we felt a positive vibe. Though we can’t predict the outcome of the movie, we are sure that it will reach people with positivity.”

Meanwhile, veteran actor Choudhury Bikash Das said, “Earlier when an Odia movie was released, everyone thought from where it was stolen or from which movie it was adapted. However, with this movie, Tarang Cine Productions has taken the initiative and has given a cinematic form to a novel.”

He further added, “There is a traditional occupation practised among the Sevayat clan. The movie’s plot is based on it. Tarang Cine Productions’ powerful initiative will hopefully change the mindset of Odia cine lovers.”

Pushkara marks the directorial debut of DOP-turned-director Subhranshu Das and writer Shankar Tripathy himself has penned down the dialogues. Apart from Sabyasachi and Supriya, the movie has an ensemble cast including veteran actors like Asrumochan Mohanty and Choudhury Bikash Das and late actors like Pintu Nanda and Rabi Das, among others. The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on Ganesh Puja, September 19.
