Taare Zameen Par's Ishaan Awasthi 'still can't read' after 17 years! Tisca Chopra and Darsheel Safary's reunion is a treat to watch
Hindi movie Taare Zameen Par is considered one of the best movies due to its sensitive portrayal of a child having dyslexia. The impactful performance of Darsheel Safary made the audience emotional. Moreover, Tisca Chopra, Aamir Khan, and all other actors nailed their characters in the movie, making it critically acclaimed. The movie recently clocked 17 years of its release last Saturday (December 21). However, the movie continues to resonate with the audience.
The story is based on Ishaan Awasthi, portrayed by Darsheel, having dyslexia for which it was troublesome for him to read, write and understand. Well, surprisingly, even after 17 years Ishaan can't read.
Celebrating the 17th anniversary of Taare Zameen Par, Tisca shared a fun reel with her on-screen son Darsheel that has sparked nostalgia among fans.
In the video, Tisca aka Maya Awasthi shows two notes to the camera. While one note had a list of home-cooked meals including dal, chawal and sabzi, the other had a list of junk food including pizza, pasta and ice cream. Tisca asks Darsheel, who is seated on a sofa behind, to pick one without seeing. Darsheel picks up the note with the list of junk food.
A few moments later, Darsheel is seen enjoying dal, chawal and sabzi.
Expressing her reaction on the camera, Tisca jokingly says, "Still can't read," referring to Darsheel's character Ishaan in Taare Zameen Par.
Further, Tisca added another playful note reading, "17 years of Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel Safary waiting for a clap back." (sic)
Furthermore, Tisca added a disclaimer reading, "Disclaimer: We understand Dyslexia to be a serious issue that affects not just the person with Dyslexia but families too… this reel is for humour only.”
Commenting on the post, Darsheel wrote, “Hahahaha you wait now.”
The video took the fans down memory lane and has gone viral winning the hearts of netizens.
On the completion of 17 years of Taare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan Productions shared a set of BTS pictures and wrote, "17 Years Of Taare Zameen Par and a timeless truth that remains. Every child is special.” (sic)
Reportedly, Aamir Khan has wrapped up the shoot of Sitaare Zameen Par, a sequel to Taare Zameen Par. The movie also features Genelia D'Souza Deshmukh and Darsheel. The sequel is, reportedly, inspired by 2018's Spanish film Champions and is all set to hit the theatres in the middle of 2025.
