Putting all the speculations to an end, the makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) have finally confirmed the re-entry of Dayaben. Yes, you heard that right. One of the most popular characters of the show Dayaben will be back on the show.
In a recent interview with E-Times, TMKOC's producer Asit Kumar Modi confirmed that fans will get to see Dayaben soon in the show.
He revealed that they are planning to get back Dayaben back to screen this year only.
“We have no reason to not get back Daya Ben’s character. But we all have faced difficult times in the recent past. 2020-21 was a very tough phase for all of us. But now that things have got better, in 2022 koi bhi acche samay par we are going to bring back the character of Daya Ben and the audience will once again get to see the entertainment of Jethalal and Daya Bhabhi," said Modi to E-times.
However, if Disha Vakhani who had played the role will return or if they will have to find a new actor for her role is not yet certain.
“ I don’t know yet if Disha Vakani will be back as Daya Ben . As she is now married and has a kid and has her family responsibilities. It is not suitable for me to comment on her behalf. But as a team we will surely try to get to Daya Ben and try our best to give the same entertainment that we gave you before," he added.
For the unversed, Daya Ben's character played Disha Vakani has been missing from the show after she went on a maternity break in 2017. She gave birth to a baby girl and had not returned since then as she has become busy with her family responsibilities.
Notably, Disha shot a special phone scene in October 2019. Meanwhile, another integral member of the show Shailesh Lodha who plays Taarak Mehta has reportedly decided to quit the show after 14 long years.
