News Highlights

  • Neha Mehta, Shailesh Lodha, and many other actors have left TMKOC due to several issues.
  • These controversies certainly dried out the humour from the most-watched comedy show in India.

A day ago, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Neha Mehta who played the character of Anjali Mehta in the serial for 12 years shared that she has not received pending payment from the makers since she made an exit two years ago. The telly actress stated that she has not received the dues for the last few months she worked on the show. However, the producer Asit Kumarr Modi has come out with a clarification that his team contacted the actress multiple times and wanted her to sign the exit contract. But they did not receive any response from Neha Mehta.

Nowadays, it has become quite usual for the actors and actresses from TMKOC to leave the show either because they are not happy with their contract or are not happy with the amount of space or spotlight they are getting on the show. Earlier Gurucharan Singh who played the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the serial also walked out of TMKOC because he had payment issues with the makers.

The most shocking thing happened when Shailesh Lodha, who played the important character of Taarak Mehta on the show, suddenly decided to exit from the show and even started shooting for another show for Shemaroo. Reportedly Shailesh Lodha is not happy with his contract and also the little amount of space that he is getting on the show.

While actors like Bhavya Gandhi, Gurucharan Singh, and Neha Mehta have already been replaced with other actors, it is going to be difficult to replace someone like Shailesh Lodha who has played the titular character for more than 14 years now. Similarly, the makers are yet to find a replacement for Disha Vakani’s Dayaben who took a break from the show 5 years ago.

While the show has continued even though these actors have left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the natural humour and fun for which the audience watched it is no more there. Rather, people enjoy watching the old episodes instead of the regular weekly episodes because their favourite actors are no more a part of TMKOC.
