Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is currently going through a crisis. The show has been running for more than a decade and over the years there have been issues between the production house and the actors. A few have left and some like Kavi Kumar Azad aka Hathibhai and Ghanashyam Nayak aka Nattu Kaka even died in between. But the show continued and is still running on Sony SAB.
However, the quality of the show has been largely affected because the actors, who played some important characters like Dayaben, Roshan Singh Sodhi, Anjali Bhabhi, and Tappu, have left the show. And now reports are that even Shailesh Lodha, who played the pivotal role of Mehta Saab has made an exit. In the last couple of months, TMKOC has been more in the news for the comeback of Disha Vakani or the exit of Shailesh Lodha or Munmun Dutta, instead of its stories.

While the comeback news of Disha Vakani as Dayaben was all untrue, there were speculations that the makers have started auditioning new actresses to replace Disha. The last few episodes also focused on Dayaben’s return to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah but turned out to be just a trick to keep the audience engaged.
Now that the original Taarak Mehta aka Shailesh Lodha has bid goodbye to the comedy show and many other major actors have already called it a quit, fans have started losing their interest in the show. Even Popatlal is yet to get married; Bagha and Bawri's affair has come to a standstill. Either the showmakers should plan for a leap or just quietly bid goodbye.
This is the right time to bid adieu because the charm and engagement that good actors like Disha Vakani and Shailesh Lodha brought to TMKOC are nowhere to be seen. It will be very much difficult for the audience to accept any other actress or actor to step into the shoes of these iconic characters.
