Sunny Deol picks Shah Rukh Khan for collaboration in two-hero flick
1993's romantic-thriller flick Darr was a game-changer for Shah Rukh Khan. Though SRK played the role of an anti-hero, he stole the limelight with his powerful performance in the movie. SRK outperformed Sunny Deol, who played the protagonist in the film. Reportedly, following that, the duo had a fallout and they didn't talk to each other. Eventually, the duo ended their cold war and SRK congratulated Sunny on Gadar 2's success. Later, they were spotted together posing for the paps. Now, Sunny Deol has expressed his desire to team up with Shah Rukh.
Currently, Sunny Deol is gearing up for his upcoming action-packed movie Jaat and is busy with promotions. During a recent interview on Pinkvilla Masterclass, Sunny was asked with whom he would like to do a two-hero film.
To this, the Chup actor said that the film industry has changed and the directors no longer have the same level of control over character arcs. This makes it a good time for a potential collaboration.
Sunny was quoted as saying, "Aise decide karna kiske saath karunga nahi (To decide like this with whom I’d do it or not)… I mean, I would love to do it. I think anyone who is… Shah Rukh ke saath ek hi film ki thi. Toh ek aur kar sakte hain (I did only one film with Shah Rukh. So we can do another). It would be nice because that was a different period, and now it’s a different period, so definitely.”
Further, he added, "Pehle humare directors had control over the whole thing. Aaj kal humare directors ke paas itna control nahi hai aur kahaniyaan waisi ban bhi nahi rahi hain, which will justify the images of the actors. Woh bahut zaroori hai (Earlier, our directors had control over the whole thing. Today our directors don't have that much control, and the stories are not being made in a way that would justify the images of the actors. That is very important).”
Well, fans certainly can't wait to see Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan together again on the big screen.
