SSMB29: Prithviraj Sukumaran breaks silence on his Odisha visit, 'Casual sightseeing trip...'
South ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli's upcoming venture SSMB29 (working title) has been creating significant buzz since the day of its announcement. Now, all eyes are on the related updates about the movie starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Notably, even though leaked pictures and videos from the sets in Odisha's Koraput went viral on social media, the makers haven't made an official announcement about the movie and the cast. Moreover, the actors have remained mum about their involvement in the project. However, Prithviraj Sukumaran has finally broken his silence for the first time and confirmed his involvement in the magnum opus.
Currently, Prithviraj Sukumaran is busy promoting L2: Empuraan. During a recent interview, when asked about his involvement in SSMB29, he initially dodged the question. He jokingly suggested that his recent sighting with Mahesh Babu in Odisha's Koraput was just a casual sightseeing trip.
However, later he confirmed his involvement in SSMB29 as more details about the film emerged.
During his involvement with Pinkvilla, Prithviraj said, "So I mean, now since the video or some photographs and all have been leaked, I can't really say that I went there for sightseeing. So hopefully very soon we will be able to talk about the film. It's been more than a year that I have been a part of the project; we have slowly been working towards it."
Reportedly, made at a whopping budget of Rs 1000 crore, SSMB29 is touted to be the most expensive Indian movie. The globe-trotting action-adventure is planned as a two-part film. While the first part is planned for release in 2027, the second instalment will likely be released in 2029.
