RRR's release date had been postponed multiple times by the makers owing to the pandemic situation across the country. The film was originally scheduled to release on July 30, 2020. However, due to the pandemic, it was postponed to January 8, 2021 (coinciding with the 2021 Sankranthi festival).

Due to the delay in production owing to Covid restrictions, the makers had then announced that the film would release on October 13, 2021. Again due to the second wave, the makers failed to meet the deadline.
The buzz around RRR is high and even if a small info related to the film starts trending on social media.
A few days earlier, the makers had shared on the official handle of the movie about the release date, "Post production nearly done to have #RRRMovie ready by October’21. But as known to many, we are postponing the release but cannot announce a new date with theatres indefinitely closed. We will release at the earliest possible date when the world cinema markets are up and running."

RRR is a fictional story about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama and Komaram Bheem, who fought against the British and the Nizams of Hyderabad. Ram Charan will be essaying the role of Alluri Sitarama while Jr NTR will be seen as Komaram Bheem.
Bollywood diva Alia Bhatt will essay the role of Sitarama’s lover ‘Sita’ while Olivia Morris will be seen as Komaram Bheem’s love interest. Bollywood’s star Ajay Devgn will also be seen in a crucial role in the magnum opus.
