Sunny Deol in Jaat
The theme song from Sunny Deol’s Jaat is now out. Surprisingly, even at the age of 67, the veteran actor looks masculine, dashing and just perfect to play the lead role of Jaat. Sunny Deol has always represented action and aggressiveness in Bollywood and in Jaat he just manages to set the tempo right for such an actioner with his pleasing yet strong personality.
Salman Khan’s Sikandar was also promoted as a big actioner with a lot of dose of emotions and romance. But it fell flat at the box office. Importantly, no one was surprised when Sikandar did not do well because right from the teaser, and poster to the final trailer, nothing looked promising. What's more Salman Khan did not look fit enough to shoulder the role of a action superstar.
Contrarily, from its trailer to the theme song, Jaat is giving all the right vibes of a superhit.
Jaat will be released on April 10, almost one and a half years after Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 became a massive blockbuster. It is not only Sunny Deol’s biggest hit but also one of the biggest hits of Bollywood. Since Jaat is the first movie of Sunny Deol to release after such huge success expectations of fans are quite high.
Sunny Deol’s newfound stardom is expected to deliver another biggie for Bollywood. Importantly, with Sikandar tanking badly and no other big movie to release for more than week, Jaat will definitely get the benefit. Another important factor is that for the first time, Sunny Deol has collaborated with a Southern production house as well as a director.

The pan India success of South Indian movies like Pushpa 2, KGF 2 or Kantara has proved that Indians are loving the southern touch in movies. Sikandar too was directed by a Southern director AR Murugadoss but it seems Salman Khan tried to turn his movie into a typical Bollywood commercial and that took away the natural flow of the story.
Nonetheless, this North and South collaboration for Jaat is also expected to get pan India response. Fans are eagerly awaiting a big release after Sikandar failed to fulfil their expectations and Jaat is the only release around now so the response is expected to be tremendous.
Secondly, the makers have chosen an ideal date for its release. Jaat will release on Mahavir Jayanti which is a national holiday in government offices and schools. Secondly, Baisaki and Ambedkar Jayanti also fall on April 13 and April 14 respectively. So the movie gets a long weekend which can be extremely beneficial.
Another important factor is Jaat is being directed by Gopichant Malineni who is known in the south for action movies and tear-jerking dramatics. Sunny Deol has proven track record of delivering big hits like Ghayal and Ghatak in this genre. So expectations are high that Jaat will emerge box-office winner.
