Actress Shruti Hassan has recently shared a few ravishing metallic look pics off hers on Instagram for which she was brutally trolled with some even calling her a ‘chudail’ for sporting black lipstick.

However, the actress was not affected by the negative trolling but rather considered it as the ‘greatest compliment’.

In an interview to Pinkvilla, Shruti told that she didn't wear black lipstick so that netizens can put a gold star on their report cards of her. She did it because she wanted to do it.

"So, I will continue, I'm not going to do it for a role or a movie unless it demanded it. I wouldn't just like randomly or put black lipstick and step out my house in the middle of summer. I mean, I would love to but I think that would be a bit much, but if the mood calls for it and if I feel like doing it, then I do it," added the D-Day actress.

Speaking about the trolling she received on social media, Shruti said that she grew up 'idolising the metal scene' so she loves the 'goth subculture' and the aesthetic.

"I get comments like what happened to you, you look like ‘chudail’ and I say ok, yeah it's fine... that’s cool because witches are bad so I love that," she added.

The Ramaiya Vastavaiya actress went on to say that she considers it the ‘greatest compliment’ because she aspires to be a ‘rock and roll witch’.

On the work front, Shruti will be next in Tamil film Laabam with Vijay Sethupathi. She will also be seen opposite Prabhas in ‘Salaar’ directed by KGF fame director Prashanth Neel.
