Sanoj Mishra's live-in partner denies rape charges; confesses being 'misguided' and 'jealous' of Monalisa

Bollywood filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, who made it to the headlines after announcing a film with Maha Kumbh Mela's viral girl Monalisa, was arrested by the Delhi Police on accusations of raping an aspiring actress. The filmmaker was arrested after the Delhi High Court rejected his bail plea. Mishra was accused of sexually assaulting an aspiring actress on the pretext of offering her a role in his film. However, recently, a video surfaced on the internet in which Mishra's reported live-in partner confessed to filing a rape case to avenge the director for making a film with Monalisa.

'Misguided and Provoked'

In the viral video, the girl, Pooja Sharma, says, "I was living with Sanoj Mishra for the past five years in a live-in relationship. It was my decision. When anyone stays together in a live-in, it becomes a family matter, and it is a common thing. Fights are quite common in any family. So, I was quite troubled over all those things, and there were people who misguided and provoked me for which the disturbance between us intensified. " (In Hindi)

"So, it is Sanoj Mishra's bad luck. Even my luck is bad as I was a victim of their conspiracy," she added. (In Hindi)

Further, she added, "At that time, I couldn't contact Sanoj Mishra as he was in Manipur to search locations for 'The Diary of Manipur'. While I was not able to contact him, people misled me, and I have written the FIR. However, the accusations of rape was not written by me."

Sanoj Mishra Arrested

According to media reports, the 28-year-old aspiring actress from a small town accused Mishra of sexually assaulting her multiple times on the pretext of offering her a role in his film. After an investigation involving intelligence gathering and technical surveillance, Mishra was arrested by the Delhi Police on March 30, 2025.

He was taken into custody in Ghaziabad and later brought to Nabi Karim Police Station for further legal proceedings. She also accused Mishra of luring her with false promises of marriage and film opportunities.
