  • Sania Mirza said that she will play herself in her biopic if Akshay agrees to be her love interest.
  • The tennis player recently was on The Great Indian Kapil Show.

Sania Mirza has now retired as a professional tennis player. She had a stellar career, won many international tournaments and earned accolades worldwide for her brilliant game. However, in the last couple of years, she has been more in the limelight for her separation and divorce from the former Pakistani captain Shoaib Malik.

Recently, she appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show along with other big names in Indian sports like boxer Mary Kom, badminton player Saina Nehwal, and sharpshooter Sift Kaur. Both Mary Kom and Saina Nehwal have biopics made on their life with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Parineeti Chopra respectively playing the two famous players.

So, when Kapil asked Sania Mirza which actress she would like to play herself in a biopic Sania said, “Inki koi behen bachi hain? (meaning Chopra sisters) No, I think we have many good actors in our country. Anyone is fine. Or maybe I should play myself.” Kapil Sharma then said that once Shah Rukh Khan had said that he would love to play the love interest of Sania Mirza.

The Tennis legend was taken aback by this statement since she is no longer a part of any romantic relationship. But she lightened the moment saying, “But I need to find a love interest first.” When asked if she would play herself in the biopic if SRK agrees to play her love interest, Sania said, “If Shah Rukh ji does the film, I might play myself. And I’ll definitely do it if Akshay Kumar is in it.”

It is not the first time that the great player has voiced out her love for Khiladi Kumar. Even before this, she has on record shared her soft corner for the Bollywood superstar. When asked how she managed to get the famous Swiss player Martina Hingis as her doubles partner, the Hyderabad-native player said that she fed Martina the Hyderabadi biryani of Farah Khan.
