Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is in trouble! Producer hits back at Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru's sequel claim

Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's Sanam Teri Kasam has been scripting history with its re-release. Amid this, the excitement among fans has elevated following the recent revelations about Sanam Teri Kasam 2 made by director-duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. However, it seems that Sanam Teri Kasam's sequel is in trouble now. Recently, producer Deepak Mukut stated that he reserves the rights to the sequel and the directors don't have the authority to announce a follow-up.

Notably, producer Deepak Mukut had officially confirmed a sequel to Sanam Teri Kasam on September 10, 2024. In the pic, Deepak posed with Harshvardhan holding the script with a poster of Sanam Teri Kasam in the background.

Meanwhile, a couple of days ago, Radhika and Vinay confirmed that they had completed the Sanam Teri Kasam script.

However, recently Deepak clarified that he reserves the rights of the sequel to the romantic-tragic saga and has not authorized the directors (Radhika and Vinay) to announce the sequel.

During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Deepak said, "The IP of Sanam Teri Kasam belongs to me since I am its producer. So, the right to make a sequel or even a prequel or a remake rests with me."

Further, he added, "In fact, I announced the sequel in September 2024 with Harshvardhan as the lead...As for the directors (Radhika and Vinay), I haven't had any discussion with them. They haven't met and spoken to me about it. I have not finalised any director."

When asked if he (Deepak) has reached out to the directors, Deepak said that it is their (directors) responsibility to contact him, especially since they are discussing the sequel in the interviews.

Talking about the sequel, Deepak said that the scriptwriting process is currently underway and once it is completed, the production will commence.

Well, after Deepak's clarification that he is not yet associated with Radhika and Vinay for the sequel, it is clear that the director duo's script for the Sanam Teri Kasam sequel has no connection with the one the producer has. However, fans now speculate that Sanam Teri Kasam 2 has landed in trouble.
