News Highlights

  • Samantha Akkineni will most probably star in Nag Ashwin’s next with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
  • The Southern diva is reportedly looking for pan India projects at present.
  • Sam currently has two movies- Shakuntalam, and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal in hand.

The shooting of Nag Ashwin’s upcoming project tentatively titled Project K starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan started a few days ago. Now, the latest buzz is that the Southern diva Samantha Akkineni may soon join them as the second female lead in the movie.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, the buzz is strong that Sam is considering the offer and is highly elated to be a part of a movie that stars the Baahubali superstar and Big B. At present, Nag Ashwin is busy shooting a few important scenes which include Amitabh Bachchan and few more actors. The shooting is going on in Ramoji Film City and Big B has especially come to Hyderabad to shoot these scenes.

If Samantha Akkineni comes on the board of this Nag Ashwin movie, it will be a big deal for Southern beauty. She has already rocked her entry in Bollywood by giving a stupendous performance as Raji in The Family Man Season 2.

With younger beauties like Pooja Hegde, Rashmika Mandanna, and Rakul Preet Singh getting good work from the Hindi film industry, it is high time that an established Tollywood star like Sam focuses her attention now on gaining pan India recognition.

And a mega-Bollywood debut can surely help her achieve that. Already her hubby, Naga Chaitanya is all set to debut in B-town with Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha. So, it would be the right step for Samantha Akkineni to shift her focus to doing more pan India projects in the future.

The Oh Baby actress is currently busy shooting for Shakuntalam, a movie based on the mythological story of Dushyant and Shakuntala. She is also a part of Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, to be directed by Vignesh Shivan. Sam will star alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in this movie.
