South Diva Samantha Akkineni was all set to romance Aditya Roy Kapoor for her Bollywood debut way back in 2013. Yes, you heard that right! However, things didn’t work out and the film was shelved.

Reportedly, Samantha and Aditya were cast in Gautam Vasudev Menon’s Assi Nabey Poore Sau which was shelved later on. Both the actors had also even shot some portions of the film.

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the film was pitched as a tri-lingual film with simultaneously being shot in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Samantha was cast to play the female lead in all three versions but the heroes were different – in the Tamil version Jiva played the lead while in the Telugu version Nani was the lead and in the Hindi version Aditya Roy Kapoor was cast as the lead.

The Tamil version was titled Neethaane En Ponvasantham while the Telugu version was titled Yeto Vellipyindhi Manasu. While both the Tamil and Telugu versions were completed and released but the Hindi version got shelved mid-way.

However, this not the only tryst of Samantha with Bollywood. As the Mersal actress had made a cameo in Gautam Vasudev Menon’s Ekk Deewana Tha starring Pratiek Babar and Amy Jackson which was the remake of Sam’s debut movie Ye Maaya Chaasve. Samantha played Partiek friend who turns actress in his film, playing the role of his love (Amy Jackson).

Meanwhile, on the work front, Samantha is receiving praises and rave reviews for her performance as Raji in The Family Man Season 2 which marked her foray into digital space and Hindi language debut.
