Samantha, Aditya Roy Kapur's ambitious Netflix project shelved? Check details

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Aditya Roy Kapur - led Rakt Bramhand seems to be facing financial issues and is on the brink of getting shelved. It is one of the ambitious projects from the team of Raj & DK and hence the news about it getting shelved came as a surprise.

Rakt Bramhand on hold after financial review

The current buzz around Rakt Bramhand says that Netflix which was going to officially stream this series has put this project on hold for an indefinite period after reviewing its budget. While there has not been any official announcement regarding shelving this project, Netflix might make the announcement soon.

Peeping Moon reported, “About two weeks ago, Netflix held a closed-door meeting with creators Raj & DK and the new executive producer, who has previously worked with Aamir Khan's and Farhan Akhtar’s banners. They examined the existing budget and the actual costs required to move forward. The figures simply failed to align."

“Netflix has already incurred significant losses from earlier shoots — much of which needs to be reshot anyway — and they’re unwilling to invest further in what’s already deemed high-risk,” the source added.

It would have been the third project in a row for Samantha Ruth Prabhu with Raj & DK who has worked earlier in The Family Man 2 and Citadel with them. But now along with Sam the other star cast of Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi has moved on to their other projects since there have been no updates from the makers about Rakt Bramhand’s schedule.

The bad news is that the team needs to reshoot everything right from the beginning indicating that the earlier work and footage have already been trashed. It will add a considerable amount of financial burden on Netflix. And that is why it may not move ahead with Rakt Bramhand.
