Samantha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Wamiqa Gabbi join Raj & DK's new web series

After the stellar cast of Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Aditya Roy Kapur, the new web series helmed by Raj and DK has got another female lead in Wamiqa Gabbi. While ‘Citadel’ fame actress Samantha has been finalized as the main female lead, Wamiqa will also be sharing the screen with her.

While it is too early to spill any beans about the upcoming web series, it is expected to be under the action genre and is tentatively titled ‘Rakhtbeej’. However, many other reports suggest that the series has been titled ‘Rakht Brahmand’ and will be a period fantasy drama.

A report in Peeping Moon claimed that Raj and DK will only be the showrunners and it will be directed by Tumbbad fame director Rahi Anil Barve.

“Rahi has created a mysterious, fantastical world that has never been explored in Indian cinema before. Aditya, Samantha and Wamiqa were immediately taken aback by the concept and visualization and are excited to be part of the project. It’s a passion project that Rahi has been developing since before Tumbbad came out. He had initially planned it as a feature film but adapted it into a web series due to extensive material that couldn’t fit into the movie format. It will be an incredible exhilarating ride that will transport the audience into a world full of deceit, double crossing, love, sacrifice and destiny,” a report in Peeping Moon stated.

The show will go on the floors by August this year after Raj and DK complete the third season of ‘The Family Man’. 
This will be Aditya Roy Kapur’s second venture in the OTT world after the stupendous success of ‘The Night Manager’.

On the other hand, Samantha is a frequent collaborator for Raj and DK. She was first seen in ‘The Family Man’ and will now headline Citadel: Honey Bunny with Varun Dhawan.
