Rs 50 crore for cameo in Rajinikanth's Jailer 2! Balakrishna charges a whooping amount
Nelson Dilipkumar's upcoming flick Jailer 2 with Thalaivar Rajinikanth has been creating immense buzz these days. While Rajini and Ramya Krishnan are all set to reprise their roles, the sequel will feature a host of cameos of superstars from various regional industries including Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal. Well, recently reports were abuzz that Daaku Maharaaj fame Nandamuri Balakrishna is the newest addition as a cameo. While reports suggest that Balakrishna will be playing a cop's role, reportedly he is getting paid a whopping amount.
According to the latest report by IndiaGlitz, Balakrishna will play a crucial role in Jailer 2. Shockingly, the film's producers, Sun Pictures, have agreed to pay him a hefty amount for a short schedule.
A source informed the publication that Nandamuri Balakrishna has assigned a 20-day schedule for Jailer 2. Reportedly, Balakrishna asked for Rs 50 crore for the 20-day schedule and the producers agreed to it without hesitating.
According to an earlier report by Hindustan Times, a source close to the film's unit confirmed Balakrishna coming on board for a cameo. Reportedly, his role will be a powerful one. However, Balakrishna's role will be more of a guest than a cameo, said the source adding that fans will love his character.
If the reports are anything to go by, Balakrishna has become the highest-paid actor for a cameo role.
Notably, there are many renowned actors who didn't charge a dime for cameos in films. Be it Amitabh Bachchan in Paheli, Shah Rukh Khan in Rocketry, Salman Khan in Pathaan or Ram Charam in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, these notable actors made cameos without charging a single penny.
However, not all actors make cameo appearances for free.
Reportedly, Ajay Devgn charged Rs 35 crore for his role in SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR. With this, he remains the highest-paid actor for a cameo role.
Some other actors include Alia Bhatt, Huma Qureshi and Urvashi Rautela.
According to a report by Siasat, Alia Bhatt charged Rs 9 crore for her 15-minute cameo in RRR.
On the other hand, Huma Qureshi charged Rs 2 crore for her appearance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Interestingly, Urvashi Rautela charged a whooping amount of Rs 3 crore for her cameo in Megastar Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya. Reports suggest Urvashi's fee was equal to or more than any mainstream actress in Tollywood.
