  • RRR release has been postponed as the theaters are yet to open with full capacity.
  • It has created a tiff between director SS Rajamouli and Jayantilal Gada.

RRR starring Ram Charan, Junior NTR, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn is undoubtedly one of the most awaited releases. The film helmed by SS Rajamouli was expected to release in October this year around Dasshera but now has been postponed as the theaters are not yet allowed to open with full capacity.

RRR is a big-budget movie with a huge lineup of stars. Naturally, the box-office expectations for this movie are also very high. Importantly, post the massive success of the Baahubali franchise, everyone including the producers, the director, and the audience is expecting the same magic on the big screen as well as at the box office. That is why Rajamouli does not want to take any chances and decided to postpone the release of RRR.

Now, it seems the producer of this magnum opus-Jayantilal Gada who owns the digital and satellite rights as well as controls the rights for RRR in North India has lost his patience. According to reports, Jayantilal Gada wants Rajamouli to agree to an OTT release for RRR. He is of the belief that the pandemic situation is not going to improve soon. With Kerala and many other parts of India still fighting the Coronavirus situation, it is most unlikely that the officials will allow the theaters to open with their full capacity in the upcoming few months.

While Akshay Kumar did take the risk and released his Bell Bottom in theaters, the movie could not bring back the audience to the theaters as expected. So, at present, the attendance of audiences in the theaters has hit an all-time low. Jayantilal Gada has high stakes in this flick which is why he is justified in thinking that the movie should be released on the OTT platform. But Rajamouli is adamant and wants his mega movie to release only in the theaters.

And that has sort of created a tiff between the producer and director of the movie RRR.
