It’s been around 10 months of its release but the craze for RRR movie is nowhere diminishing. After roaring in India and driving movie lovers across the globe crazy, recently, the magnum opus set another milestone. With this, filmmaker SS Rajamouli and South actor Jr NTR have left their footprints internationally.

Recently, RRR movie was nominated for the prestigious Golden Globe Awards in two categories streaming excitement among all. Now, Rajamouli has been honoured with the Best Director award at The New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) in the US. Accepting the award he said that the response of the movie lovers in the West was the same way Indians did.

On January 5, trendsetter Rajamouli arrived at the event with his family members. When his name was announced for the award, he got a standing ovation from a section of attendees and the crowd encouraged him. 

In his acceptance speech, the Baahubali helmer said, “Cinema is like a temple. With RRR, I saw the same kind of reception in the West. They were reacting the same way that Indians did.”

As per the latest updates, RRR was scheduled to be screened at the world's biggest IMAX theatre and the tickets for the screening got sold out in a matter of 98 seconds.

RRR was screened as a part of an initiative by Beyond Fest at Los Angeles' Chinese Theatre.

The official handle of Beyond Fest took to Twitter to share the news. The tweet claimed that it was historic as there has not been a screening like this ever before.

Notably, earlier in December, the makers claimed that RRR raised over 410 million yen at the Japanese box office since its release on October 21, 2022. 

Jr NTR enters the list of Top 10 Oscars Prediction

While fans and movie lovers across the globe are celebrating Rajamouli’s achievement, the cause of celebration has doubled with Jr NTR finding a place in the Top 10 Best Actor prediction list for the prestigious Oscars alongside the likes of Hugh Jackman (The Son) and Will Smith (Emancipation).

For the first time in Indian history, an Indian actor has entered Variety’s Top 10 Best Actor prediction list for the Oscars.
