  • Akshay Kumar's Bell Bottom has received a good response from the audience.
  • It can surely encourage the producers of KGF 2, RRR, Pushpa to release their movies sooner than planned earlier.

Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom, which was released today, is Bollywood’s first theatrical release after the Coronavirus pandemic hit the country. The reviews for the movie have already started pouring in and most of the critics have given good ratings to Bell Bottom. Interestingly, the response from the audience to this flick which also stars Lara Dutta, Vaani Kapoor, and Huma Qureshi in interesting roles has been very good.

Although even now the theaters are allowed to open only with 50% capacity and the corona threat continues to lurk, movie buffs have dared to go to the theaters and the advance booking for the weekend has been full. This tremendous response has revived the hopes of the movie producers who were not sure whether the audience will dare to come to the theaters as the risk of Coronavirus continues.

Importantly, the response to Bell Bottom may also impact the release of big Southern movies that are planning a pan India theatrical opening. SS Rajamouli’s RRR, Prashanth Neel and Yash’s KGF 2 and Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna’s Pushpa are some of the most awaited movies at present.

Earlier, there was a buzz that Rajamouli might postpone RRR’s release to summer 2022 as it is a big-budget movie and with only a 50% audience allowed in the theaters it may impact the collection.

Similarly, the makers of KGF 2 have also decided that the sequel will release only when the theaters will open at their full capacity. Pushpa has already been scheduled to release this Christmas.

Response to Bell Bottom has indicated that the audience is ready to go to the theaters and take the risk and the leading banners can think of releasing their movies soon. Also, movie buffs who love to see films with high octane action and drama on the big screen are now eager to see their favorite stars in action in theaters. So, instead of holding on to the release, releasing such movies sooner when the movie fans are desperate to watch the flicks on the big screen can be a big advantage.

That is why this response to Akki’s movie may infuse faith in producers to release their big-budget movies sooner than planned earlier.
