Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 shooting is currently underway. Produced by Hombale Films, some details of this prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara have now surfaced on the web. The upcoming movie from the filmmaker and actor Rishab Shetty is expected to be a divine journey as it is going to present the divine history of Panjurli Daiva, Guliga Daiva.
Ever since the announcement video was released, several rumours and speculations related to the story and the star cast have been making the rounds. According to The Statesman, “The film draws the inspiration from ancient times and tells the story about the origin of Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva divinities and also throws light on their origin.”
It further says, “While Kantara gave an insight into Panjurli Daiva, the prequel will give the audiences a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience with the inclusion of Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva divinities”.
Recently the actor had a fanboy moment with Mohanlal when he had the pleasure of meeting the Malayalam superstar along with his wife Pragathi Shetty. Rishab shared the picture of the trio on his social media handle and penned, “An honour and a pleasure to meet the legendary @mohanlal sir!" (sic).
Apart from the Kantara prequel, reports are adrift that the Kannada superstar is in talks with Bollywood actor-director Ashutosh Gowarikar for his next. Ashutosh has given some very good movies like Lagaan, Swades, Jodhaa Akbar, and more. However, his last two movies viz. Mohenjo Daro with Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde, and Panipat with Arjun Kapoor , Kriti Sanon, and Sanjay Dutt were big flops.
Even then he is one director known to produce movies with big canvas and detailing and most of them have been period movies. With fans accepting Rishab Shetty's Kantara, they might accept him in a similar kind of role in Bollywood if he collaborates with Ashu in his next venture.
