Rhea Chakraborty with brother Showik
Actress Rhea Chakraborty has signalled a new beginning in her life after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reportedly gave her a clean chit in the 2020 Sushant Singh Rajput case.
The investigation concluded with no evidence suggesting abetment or foul play, bringing closure to one of Bollywood’s most widely publicised controversies.

On Instagram, Rhea marked this turning point by sharing a heartfelt photograph with her younger brother, Showik Chakraborty. The two are seen sitting close together in the photo, radiating warmth and solidarity. Dressed in a rust-coloured sleeveless top and ripped jeans, Rhea captioned the image: “Chapter 2 begins now.” Showik wore a black T-shirt and a cap with the word “CHAPTER” printed on it.
The post resonated with many of Rhea's supporters, who expressed their encouragement in the comments section. One user remarked, "My fav siblings ❤️ I love u guys so much. Wishing lots of happiness and success for u both." Another commented, "The Phoenix Warrior Siblings Duo ❤️ Chapter 2 is yours to write, and it’s going to be filled with eternal happiness, success and prosperity which you deserve the most. We love you so much. Keep smiling always."
Actress Dia Mirza also voiced her support for Rhea. Following the CBI's closure report, Mirza took to her Instagram Stories, questioning the media's previous treatment of Chakraborty. She wrote, "Who in the media will have the grace to put out a written apology to Rhea Chakraborty and her family? You went on a witch hunt. You caused deep anguish and harassment just for TRPs. Apologise. That's the very least you can do."
In June 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found deceased in his Mumbai residence. Subsequently, Rhea Chakraborty faced intense media scrutiny and legal challenges, including an arrest in September 2020 on drug-related charges linked to the case. She was accused of procuring and supplying drugs to Rajput but was released on bail after 28 days in custody.
The recent closure of the CBI's investigation, which found no evidence of foul play, has allowed Chakraborty to publicly embrace a new chapter in her life.
