Shah Rukh Khan was accused of doing corporate bookings during Pathaan and Jawan. Apart from the trade analysts many Bollywood insiders also hinted towards the same although it was all rumours and speculations. Since at that time South Indian movies like Pushpa: The Rise and KGF2 had become huge blockbusters there was also a massive debate how Bollywood superstars indulged in corporate booking whereas the South Indian movie collections were organic.

Now it seems that is not the case. At least that is what Ram Gopal Varma , the famous director has to say. During his recent interview RGV as he is popularly known shared some shocking details regarding corporate bookings done by a Southern superstar to ensure that his movie gets a good run. Opening about the same the Rangeela director said, “One particular company with a big star they came from Bombay and produced with a big star in Telugu. The film may be at some point of time came into deficit you know at the theaters. The corporate company wanted it to be removed. Now the stars fans they felt that it will be an insult if it doesn’t continue at least for this long a time or something.”

“So the hero he called the corporate company head and said okay now I will use my own money but you have to run it till this point of time or something. Okay. He said as long as he is spending the money what do they lose. So he said okay. And then this was not communicated to the distributor. So the distributor stopped putting ads in the newspapers that the movie is running in this theater.” said RGV.

Since the distributor was not getting paid for it he was not doing any advertisements since he is not following the rules. According to RGV the film continued to run but there was no ad about it running in the theatre. The film director said that although a very small amount of money is involved in it since it is their corporate policy they did not run the ads. This sort of thing have over the years completely turned off the heroes.

RGV has not mentioned the name of the Telugu star who was involved in this corporate booking thing. But it is an indication that it does happen even in the South Indian movies and is not restricted only to Bollywood .
