Ranveer Singh and Prasanth Varma's new movie is titled Rakshas; Details inside!

Rumours about Ranveer Singh and Prasanth Varma teaming up for a big project has been going around for some time. Even the director had said that he is interested in working with the Bollywood superstar albeit after completing his current project HanuMan. Finally, it seems the two of them have come to a decision as today, a leading media portal confirmed that Ranveer Singh will star in Prasanth's next project titled Rakshas.

The movie will be based on an Indian mythology and currently the team is busy working on the pre-production tasks. Produced by Mythri Studios, Ranveer Singh will be playing a grey character in Rakshas.

According to Pinkvilla, “It’s part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, where the director is introducing several characters before bringing them all together in the finale. Ranveer is blown away by the vision and long-term plans that his director has for the universe and is excited to embark on the journey of Rakshas soon.”

The report also says, “Ranveer has met Prasanth Varma and the team multiple times over the last few weeks and has already done a Pooja for the film on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Hyderabad.”

Set in the pre-independence era Ranveer Singh will have a negatively shaded strong character in the movie that delves into the impact of dark forces as mentioned in Indian mythology.

The Bajirao Mastani actor will be next seen in Singham Again alongside Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. He also has been roped in to work in Don 3 helmed by Farhan Akhtar. Another movie with Aditya Dhar is also in the pipeline.

On the personal front, Ranveer Singh is in a happy phase as he along with his wife Deepika Padukone announced pregnancy last month. The actor was also in the limelight a few weeks ago for walking ramp in Varanasi alongside Kriti Sanon.
