Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's leaked look from Love and War bring back Raj Kapoor's Sangam vibes

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have started shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War. Recently a few clicks of Ranbir and Alia leaked online that showed the lead stars in getup reflecting a period of 70s and 80s. The big hairdo of Alia Bhatt and her white dress whereas the vintage-style mustache sported by Ranbir Kapoor wearing a white shirt and a black tie which was typical of Raj Kapoor’s look in his heydays caught everyone’s attention.

The pictures shared by Zoom confirm that Love and War is a period drama and all the characters including Alia, Ranbir, and Vicky Kaushal will be seen in a never before avatar. Importantly, similar to Alia Bhatt, Vyjayanthimala too sported a big hairdo in Sangam whereas Ranbir Kapoor’s look does seem inspired by Raj Kapoor’s portrayal of Sundar from the same movie.

Since this Sanjay Leela Bhansali is based on the classic movie Sangam directed by Raj Kapoor, the base storyline is expected to be a love triangle. Before shooting with Ranbir Kapoor , Alia Bhatt had already shot a dance sequence with Vicky Kaushal that is themed around the 80s Disco mania. This particular scene was shot grandly with around 30 soldiers grooving to the famous Zeenat Aman number Laila Main Laila giving the entire sequence a retro vibe.

Mid-Day reported, “The set has been designed to replicate an ’80s disco. Sanjay sir wanted a setting that was both nostalgic and fantastical. The scene sees about 30 soldiers enjoying their time on the dance floor as retro songs, including Laila main Laila, play in the background.” While the retro songs are going around Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt are having an intense conversation as they are discussing their heartfelt emotions with each other.

Apart from the love triangle, Love and War will also have a lot of action and hence this particular combination will make the entire movie interesting. This love saga is all set to hit the theaters in March 2026.
