Raj-DK not sure of casting Samantha Ruth Prabhu in Citadel Honey Bunny; know why

Varun Dhawan and the stunning Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ has been grabbing a lot of attention online, with movie lovers all excited for the Indian version of the Russo Brothers’ spy franchise.

This will be the first collaboration of Varun Dhawan and Samantha and fans cannot wait to see their chemistry on-screen.

However, director Raj recently during an exclusive interview with News18 revealed that Samantha wasn’t the 'automatic' choice for Citadel. Yes, you read that right! The stunning diva has been the lucky charm for both Raj and DK ever since her appearance in ‘The Family Man’.

Well, the reason is Samantha’s weakness in Hindi. For the character of ‘Honey’, Raj and DK wanted a Hindi-speaking female protagonist. However, Samantha hailing from south was extremely minimal in Hindi during the making of ‘The Family Man 2’.

That’s the reason she wasn’t the automatic choice. However, over the time, Samantha became fluent in Hindi, leaving both Raj and DK stunned.

However, the talented actress eventually landed the role and is rocking in the trailer. While fans are in awe of her chemistry with Varun, it is the action sequences that are getting a lot of rave reviews from movie lovers.

Directed by ‘Farzi’ and ‘The Family Man’ writer-director duo Raj and DK, the action-thriller is all set for a premiere on November 7 on Prime Video.
