Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Ranjeet
Rumours about Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha being in a relationship have been around for decades together. While Rekha never left a chance to acknowledge her love for Big B publicly on various platforms, Amitabh Bachchan never spoke a word about it and has never acknowledged his relationship. Decades have passed but fans and gossip mongers continue to discuss their rumoured affair now and then.
Recently when veteran Bollywood actor Ranjeet shared some details about his working experience with Rekha, he also indirectly confirmed that the equation between Krrish actress and Amitabh Bachchan had once turned sour which had affected the work ethics of Rekha.
Recently during an interview the famous villain of the '70s and '80s shared that when he produced a movie, he would pay the actors the fee they demanded irrespective of the fact that most of these actors were his friends and hesitated to take payment from him.
Narrating one incident of working with Rekha as a producer Ranjit said, “I told Rekha too, that you are my friend and everything but if I am signing you for a film, I want you to quote me an amount and I will pay you and she did. Later, I realised that someone else who also signed her for one of their films was paying her Rs 5 lakh less than what she had quoted to me.”
During those days Rekha gave hard time to producers and made them wait outside her home and the communication was conducted only through her secretary Farzana. Soon she started doing the same with Ranjeet even though the actor was her friend. She even refused to shoot in the evening hours since she had given the time for some other movie.
That is when Ranjeet asked Rekha to return the payment and the two settled the dispute amicably.
During the interview, Ranjeet shared the reason behind Rekha’s misbehaviour. He said, “The reason was that she was not on good terms with Amitabh Bachchan, later they got back to being friends. Then she wanted to stay back in Mumbai. But I wanted to shoot at the farm, which was out of Bombay. She wanted to return home in the evenings, but my songs were scheduled for evenings.”
Eventually, Ranjeet decided to replace Rekha and made the movie with another actress.
