Versatile singer Arijit Singh’s version of chartbuster Pakistani song ‘Pasoori’ for Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s upcoming movie ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ has been receiving a lot of negative remarks online. Fans of the song from both Pakistan and India slammed the makers of the movie for recreating the iconic song.
Meanwhile, the original Pakistani singer Shae Gill has reacted to trolls and asked people to ‘spread love’. Sharing the video, Gill said, “If you don’t like it, instead of sending hate, don’t listen to it.”
“I have been getting a lot of questions regarding whether this was my decision. Guys, I don’t own the song, I don’t have the rights, so I didn’t sell it. I also want to talk about the hate that people have been sending towards the new song. I understand that you all love Pasoori so much, I am so greateful for the love, I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am. But also at the same time, I don’t want you to be sending hate to someone else.”
“Just look at it as a rendition rather than a remake. Maybe that will help. And if it’s something that you don’t like at all, I would say don’t listen to it. Instead of sending hate, don’t listen to it,” she added.
Earlier, singer Arijit Singh had also reacted to all the hate and said that he had agreed to croon the song because the makers have promised to fund the education of underprivileged children for one year.
Apart from Indian fans, the remake version has also not gone well with Pakistanis who expressed their displeasure on social media.
“140 million people in India still can’t produce a single song on their own,” wrote a user.
Another user wrote, “They have banned Pakistani actors. But, they want to take our songs.”
“T-Series finished destroying all Indian songs. Now, they are destroying Pakistani songs too,” wrote another user.
