Apart from delivering some big hits like Ghajini, Singham, and Khakka Khakka, the handsome star has also occasionally triggered a few controversies for his stand on certain issues.

Suriya’s family visit to the museum irked public

In April this year, Suriya Sivakumar visited the Kheezadi Museum along with his wife and actress Jyothika, children, and parents. His visit was specially arranged by a Member of Parliament. The actor happily shared photographs from his visit and even penned a few appreciative comments.

While the actor and his family had an interesting time at the museum, it was the public that was made to wait as the celebrities were inside the museum.

Slamming the visit of Suriya, a few social media users complained that they were made to wait in the sun during the open hours just because the actor and his family were inside. A few even called him a hypocrite as he boasts of practising equality both on and off the screen.

But all these allegations were later on proved false because even though earlier the opening hours of the Kheezadi museum were 9 am to 5 pm they were changed to 10 am-6 pm from 1 April onwards. To avoid overcrowding, Suriya visited the museum before the opening hours.

Slammed for shifting to Mumbai

Over the years, Suriya Sivakumar has always taken a stance against Hindi. But he surprised everyone by shifting to Mumbai from Chennai for the sake of children’s education. The decision was taken because Suriya’s wife Jyothika is working on a web series in Hindi and hence their children are studying there. That is the reason Suriya bought a house worth Rs 70 crore in Mumbai.

The actor has been at the forefront of anti-NEET and Center’s NEP policy but now has decided to shift to Mumbai for a career. This led to many slamming him as a hypocrite.
