News Highlights

  • Triptii Dimri has been nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category (Female) for Filmfare 2024.
  • Tripti's character Zoya aka Bhabhi 2 became very popular after the release of Animal.

Right from the beginning Animal was announced, it was a known fact that Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna would be the lead couple.

However, it was Triptii Dimri who eclipsed Rashoo in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie despite having comparatively a smaller role. She was the surprise package of Animal who overnight became the heart crush of India.

And now it seems she has once again left Rashmika Mandanna behind. The Filmfare 2024 list for nominees is out. As expected Jawan, Animal, Gadar 2, and 12th Fail have been listed in almost all the categories with Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal getting nominations in the best actor category (Male). But despite Animal being such a big hit, Rashmika Mandanna has not been listed in the Best Actor category (Female).

Actresses who have received a nomination in this category include Alia Bhatt (Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani), Deepika Padukone (Pathaan), Taapsee Pannu (Dunki), Bhumi Pednekar (Thank You For Coming), Kiara Advani (Satyaprem Ki Katha), and Rani Mukerji (Mrs Chatterjee vs. Norway).

However, it is Triptii Dimri who has bagged a nomination for the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor category (Female) which is not at all surprising. It is because the Filmfare awards in such categories are given not only based on the acting but also based on the popularity of the movie as well as the character. Triptii as Bhabhi 2 aka Zoya Riaz has become more popular than Rashmika’s Geetanjali.

So while Rashmika may dazzle at the Filmfare 2024 as the guest, Triptii will have a proud moment and a chance to win an award. Others who are a part of the Best Supporting Actor category (Female) include Jaya Bachchan (Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani), Shabana Azmi (Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani/Ghoomer), Yami Gautam (OMG 2), and Ratna Pathak Shah (Dhak Dhak).
