Priyanka Chopra Jonas has made some shocking statements in the last few months regarding Bollywood, which has left the industry and the fans rattled. In her last interview, the Bollywood superstar said that a director wanted to see her underwear, and since she found it dehumanizing the actress ultimately left the film.
From casting couch experiences to #MeTooMovement, strugglers who aspired to become actors in the film industry had to face this all. But it needs guts and courage to reveal such experiences to the public and only once you are such a big figure like Priyanka does such a statement gets credibility.
Andhadhun actress Radhika Apte who is known more for her bold roles on the OTT platforms had a very humiliating experience in the earlier phase of her career when a director asked her to do a special favour by sleeping with someone if she wanted to get that role.
The actor revealed the same a couple of years ago during an interview saying that she was happy about the role but refused to do it after hearing about the underlining clause.
Ankita Lokhande had a huge following when she was reigning television with Pavitra Rishta. However, after that, her identity was restricted as the ex-girlfriend of Sushant Singh Rajput. She made her debut with Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika but is yet to get a new movie in Bollywood. Opening up about her struggles in Bollywood, Ankita said that during her initial days, she had to turn down many good roles because the director expected her to compromise.
Ankita scolded the director and walked out of the project. Even though the director later apologised for his behaviour, the Telly star said that she was no more interested in his movie.
There have been many actresses who have faced such indecent demands but they prefer to keep such experiences under wrap for fear of losing good opportunities in Bollywood.
