  • Latest buzz says that Madhu Mantena and Allu Aravind has stepped back as producers for Ramayana.

Buzz around Nitesh Tiwari-directorial has been very strong even though there have been no official announcements. All the reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi will lead the three-part movie as Lord Ram and Sita whereas Yash will be playing the Demon King Ravana. Many other actors like Rakul Preet Singh, Sunny Deol, and Lara Dutta will play important characters in this epic film.

Since it is being made in three parts, the movie has a massive budget which is why the people who are bankrolling Ramayana have a crucial role to play in its production. Earlier Ghajini fame Madhu Mantena and Allu Aravind (father of Allu Arjun) were co-producing the project. However, now reports are saying that these two have backed out of the project. So who will shell out that huge amount to fulfilll the three-movie vision of Nitesh Tiwari?

Oscar-winning company to produce Ramayana now

A report in India Times says that Namit Malhotra who is the CEO of DNEG, a famous Oscar-winning VFX company is now producing Ramayana. Namit’s company is well known in Hollywood and the world over as a British visual effects, computer animation, and stereo conversion studio and has already won 8 Oscars for contributing to movies such as Inception, Oppenheimer, E Machina, Interstellar, First Man, Dune, Blade Runner 2049, and Dune.

Earlier ETimes had said, “Ramayana will be made on a massive scale, with completely new, high-octane visuals. Namit and Nitesh are employing state-of-the-art equipment, techniques, and effects for their ambitious project. It is going to be one of the largest teams of qualified professionals from across the world, and they will all be working under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari. The plan is to have a grand VFX team, the biggest cast, and mega sets. That's how Nitesh has envisioned to create the world of Ramayana."

Reports are adrift on social media that Namit and Madhu Mantena had a fallout as the latter was to finalize the star cast whereas Namit was going to look after the VFX. However, Madhu kept on delaying his work which is why Namit decided to take full control of Ramayana’s production.

The official announcement regarding Ramayana is expected in April soon.
