The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in India was inaugurated with great fanfare in Mumbai with all the big names from the Bollywood film industry and even a few from Hollywood attending the function.

Tribute to Indian art and culture

NMACC has been established to display the rich cultural history of India through performing and visual arts and various traditional costumes.

Located inside the Jio World Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex, the grand theatre has a seating capacity of 2000, a pavilion which is a sort of museum-like place covering 52,627 sq. ft area that can be converted for exhibitions and shows, a 4-story art house and a studio theatre.

During the inauguration, Nita Ambani said that NMACC has been established to bind every Indian together and also as a tribute to the glorious traditions, heritage, and legacy of the country.

The intention of NMACC is to bring into the spotlight India’s arts and culture which will be highly beneficial for both the artists as well as the audience who will get to witness the diverse form of arts from various corners of the country. NMACC will also bring together both international and Indian artists on one platform.

Details of NMACC theatre and studio

The Dhirubhai Ambani Square has a lotus-inspired Fountain of Joy. It celebrates the vibrant and colourful atmosphere of Mumbai and also offers different, richly choreographed performances by various artists.

The Grand Theatre at NMACC is one of the most important spaces with a customizable lighting system and is equipped with a world standard Virtual Acoustic System and Dolby Atmos Surround Sound System. The experience is highly rich, multidimensional, and unique as 84,00+Swarovski diamonds have been added to the Acoustic System. This theatre with 18 diamond boxes can accommodate 2000 people.

Its Studio Theatre has a capacity of 250 people with an Integrated Dolby Atmos Surround Sound System, a Flexible stage, assistive listening devices, and also a theatrical lighting system driven by LED. The 16,000 sq. ft art house is a dedicated visual arts space that will display the art of international as well as Indian artists.
